Anthony Rother´s listening project PSI PERFORMER musicalizied Carpenter inspiered visions of scary moods and dark athmosfears. The dark mooded album cover translates that feeling perfectly, fitting with the musicians understanding of his expression.

„Art is a division of Pain“ is Anthony´s first Album recorded as PSI PERFORMER and his third in total. After the enormous success of his debut album “Sex with the machines” (kanzleramt) as well as his last years “Simulationszeitalter” (Psi49net) Anthony once again
improved his outrages talent as an independent musician and producer even apart from vocoder-electro tracks.

The cd contains almost 80 minutes of music. Some songs are taken from the early green and blue PSI PERFORMER 12inches released on the kanzleramt sublabel k2o some years ago which are not availible anymore. The others are previously unreleased songs from that time as well as newer recordings.

The somehow naive charm of the young Anthony Rother´s recordings as well as the oppressed atmosphere of the complete album trickle drop by drop in the listeners brain and strenghten the lasting impression.
